Open Garden
Series

Open Garden is an enquiry to shift the perception of public  space and begin to see the city as a big garden. Open Garden offers tools based on permaculture and open design principles as a source of knowledge and empowerment for communities to open gardens in public areas. While Open Source plans help create physical gardens, a geotagging network helps to interconnect communities and provide those willing to join the movement an overview on the network and the opportunity to expand upon it.

While Open Garden initially launched as a service to act as basic platform structure to enable urban gardeners to open gardens in their homes and on public land, the series is also developed with a focus on micro-living and flat pack ‘plant furniture’.

The Open Garden Series was developed as Masters Study during Florian’s time at Central Saint Martins. The concept has been exhibited in London, the Netherlands and Belgium.
